What I see is the Hair Booms work just as well, if not better than the "traditional" booms in soaking up the oil. And how did traditional booms get so popular anyway? We have never had an oil "spill" like this! I am now calling it the Gulf vomit! BP refused to use these but my question is WHY aren't the Parish Presidents like Billy Nungesser using these?
It seems people are worried about the Hair Booms buoyancy but, as my nephew pointed out, these could be pulled behind a boat in large nets in the open ocean, or attached to large poles and literally dipped in those parts of the marshes that can't be reached by boat. Driving a boat in these areas in impossible as the boat motors would destroy the wetlands we are trying to rescue. These look like a GREAT option to me!
People, listen up! If you insist on change, you must be willing to make it happen! Write to your local senators, the Whitehouse, EPA or the special committee that has been set up to study this mess! If you are in the affected states contact your LOCAL government folks, like Billy Nungesser. Urge them to use these Hair Booms! Make change happen!
Matter of Trust continues to try to get the attention of someone that can make a decision. Help them out and Save the Hose, Save the Hair and Help Save the Gulf!

Matter of Trust Has Been Overwhelmed With Donations of Hose and Hair to Save the Gulf, So . . .
Matter of Trust has been overwhelmed with donations of Hose and Hair to Save the Gulf, so Shears4Hair is stepping up to the plate to take up some of the slack. We are now taking donations of hair; human and pet, and old pantyhose, tights, knee highs and even trouser socks to make Hair Booms to send to the Gulf regions.

"We have hit the tipping point - we are getting hundreds of sign ups an hour. And thanks to your continued outreach to the press - over 280 local news, radio and TV stories in the last 72 hours and Good Morning America just called!"
"We are about to put up a search link on our site so that people can see and patronize our fabulous and generous member salons."
What this can mean for you, is FREE Advertising as well as that warm and fuzzy knowledge that YOU can really make a difference! I urge you all to sign up on Matter of Trust website, to have your name, or your salon, shop, or spa's name put on the list of Participating Haircutting Professional's. Eco-friendly customers will seek you out!

Friendly Hair Collection Reminders:
Set aside a designated box (salons usually reuse a box in which shampoo was delivered) RECYCLING!
Line the box with a clean plastic garbage bag.
Ideally, shampoed hair is the best. We don't want to put more chemicals in the Gulf!
Any length of hair is fine, inlcuding clippings from your floor.
Every type of hair is fine (straight, curly, all colors, dyed, permed, straightened...) but only HEAD hair, please!
Sweep in all hair clippings, HAIR ONLY! Please remove all other garbage like gum, metal clips, paper cups, wrappers, etc.
When you are ready to ship or your box is full, please tie the top of the bag or secure with a rubberband or garbage bag tie and tape the box shut. Label your box with a small note that indicates if it is HUMAN or PET hair.
We also need those hosiery items! Please wash any dirty hose, even those with runs, and place in a seperate bag please. They can go in the same box but please put don't put them in the hair bag.
We will set a date for a Boom Making Party when we have enough hose and hair together to keep several volunteers busy. If you chose to do this in your area, it is very easy. You stuff the hosiery with clean hair and tie off the ends. That's it! Ship or take it to the nearest Gulf rescue organization of your choice.
Hair Stylists, Barbers, and Groomers have a unique opportunity to show the world just how much we care and how we can make a difference!
So, Get busy with it! Collect Hosiery and Hair and let's save the Gulf!
